Welcome to the borderlands, and Europe’s best rivers. You will find Foca On the banks of the Drina River near the borders of Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia Herzegovina. Rivers do not recognize borders or boundaries and neither should you. Embrace the chance to be a boundary-hunter and ride these rivers across borders and without limits.
The Drina River is created by the confluence of the Tara and Piva rivers, both of which flow out of Montenegro and connect on the border of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Rafting with Stari Dud Kamp allows you to ride both the Tara and Drina Rivers. Experience a true Balkan wilderness – wild and untamed river canyons filled with flora and fauna. Breathe air redolent with the scents of 1000 types of wild herbs, and 400-year-old black spruce. Ride over crystal clear pools, and foaming rapids, as you pass marvellous waterfalls and intriguing historical marvels. View churches, monasteries, mills and caves, as you appreciate the unique world of these towering canyons and life-giving rivers.
The easiest way to reach Foca is to rent a car and drive from Montenegro. Foca does have a bus station and there are regular bus services from Belgrade and Sarajevo.
Whilst staying at Stari Dud Kamp you can enjoy meals at the on-site restaurant. Here you will find delicious home cooked meals many of them from traditional family recipes, and with true local flavours and tastes. Relish the succulence of spit-roasted lamb or pork, warm-up after a day in the water with baked and grilled dishes, or enjoy vegetarian cuisine.
The Cuisine of Bosnia Herzegovina uses many spices usually in moderate quantities which leads to foods that retain their natural flavours with a hint of the exotic. They use many of the vegetables that you find in other European countries such as potatoes, carrots, onions, cabbages, tomatoes, etc. You may also discover the flavours of plums, paprika, milk, and a cream called pavlaka. Enjoy hearty meals to feed the adventurous spirit.
