Day 1 : Flight to Lukla (2840m/9320ft) 35 mins, Phakding (2652m/8,700 ft) 3 hrs
After an early morning breakfast, we will head to the domestic terminal of Tribhuvan International Airport for our flight to Lukla. The flight is very scenic as we can see an amazing view of Langatng and the Annapurna Himalayan range. Upon arrival to the Tenzing Hillary Airport at Lukla, we will meet up with our other crew members and begin our trek through the flourishing village of Lukla. We will trek 200m downhill to Thado Koshi River and cross a suspension bridge where the view of Mt. Kusum Kangru looks impressive. Soon after, we will cross a small Buddhist village; Ghat, leading us to Phakding. The trek today will be short and enjoyable as we’ll be acclimatizing to the weather.
Day 2 : Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,340m/11,285ft) 6 hrs.
Today will be a long day trek to Namche Bazaar. Beginning our trek early in the morning, we will head to the northern bank of Dudh Koshi River crossing many suspension bridges like the Hillary Suspension bridge. The trek further leads us to a small Sherpa village, known as Monjo. Trekking through forested trails and rocking paths we will reach the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park Check Post, where our permits will be registered. Yet another fun trek within forests, we will get the first view of Mt. Everest (8,848m). After a long trek, we will reach Namche Bazaar; the gateway to Everest and a famous Sherpa town. Overnight at the lodge with included meals (B+L+D).
Day 3 : Rest day to acclimatize at Namche Bazaar
As we are in a higher elevation, today is our acclimatization day and we will not be staying idle. Trekkers may wish to explore the Sherpa town as there are abundant cafes and restaurants with wifi, pubs, gears and souvenir shops etc. Additionally, we have optional hikes to the Sagarmatha National Park Visitor Center and a bewildering hike to Khumjung and Khunde exploring the cheese factory and visiting the Everest view Hotel that provides the best view of Mt. Everest. Then we will return back to our lodges to rest and prepare ourselves for the next day. Overnight at lodge with included meals (B+L+D).
Day 4 : Trek to Tengboche (3,855m/12,850ft) 5 hrs.
After the early morning breakfast, our journey takes us up the trails to Tengboche. We will be trekking high above the Dudh Koshi River. Normally, on clear days we get an amazing view of Everest and the surrounding peaks. On our trails, we have often spotted many local wildlife’s like Himalayan Monal, Musk deer etc. Continuing the trek, we will be heading downward the Dudh Koshi river following the rigorous pine forests to the monastery of Tengboche then to a meadow with surrounding lodges. The peak, Ama Dablam has a spectacular view. Overnight at the lodge with included meals (B+L+D).
Day 5 : Trek to Dingboche (4360m/ 4300 ft) 5 hrs.
We will be heading towards the upper trail on the way to Pangboche village. We will pass many Chortens, mani walls and small villages. We will be getting a great view of the peak Ama Dablam. The trek becomes easier as we enter the Imja Valley following the Lobuche river. We will descend into the river and trek the steepest climb to Dingboche. As we reach Dingboche, we will see beautiful arrangement of fields surrounded by stone walls protecting crops like barley, buckwheat and potatoes. The trek today becomes a little challenging as we are in a higher elevation. Overnight at the lodge with included meals (B+L+D).
Day 6 : Trek to Chhukung (4750m/15580 ft): 3 hrs.
Today we will be having an enjoyable trek to Chhukung. Our trail will lead us through stone-walled fields and the Imja Khola Valley. Magnificent views of the peaks Ama Dablam, Lhotse and Amphu Labsa are seen. Soon after we will be reaching Bibre, also known as the yak herdsman place. The traisla head are going to be interconnected by the icy streams. It takes about half an hour to reach Chhukung. Also, if trekkers wish we can hike to Chhukung Ri, for spectacular and admirable views of Lhotse, Island Peak, Ama Dablam, Makalu and Amphu Labcha peaks. As the day slowly comes to an end, we will head back to Chhukung. Overnight stay at the lodge with included meals (B+L+D).
Day 7 : Rest day to Acclimatize at Chhukung
Today being the second acclimatization day at Chhukung, we will hike to the high pass; Kongma La Pass. Though we call it a rest day, we will stay active as it is recommended by our health specialist. Island peak (6,189m) is beautifully seen from Chhukung. The day will pass by in Chhukung Ri and the base camp of Island Peak. The enormous south face of Lhotse towers above to the north, while Amphu Lapcha (5780 m pass) and the massive fluted ice walls that flank it dominate the horizon to the south. View of Ama Dablam towards the southwest, east site gives astounding picturesque peak. We will head back to Chhukung in dawn. Overnight stay at lodge with included meals (B+L+D).
Day 8 : Trek to Kongma La (5535m/18159ft), then to Lobuche (4940m/16210 ft) 7 hrs.
Our journey today will be interesting as we will be trekking to the highest pass in this entire trek. We will be fully equipped so that we do not come across any problems during our journey. This trek will provide us with magnificent and pleasant views of the Himalayan range. There will be two routes; climbing over the hill northwest of Chhukung over the moraine of the Nuptse Galceir or coming back down to the valley to Bibre and ascending along the east side of the Niyang Khola Valley. During our trek, we will be witnessing the beautiful view of Island Peak. As we turn to the west, the trail becomes stony and soon we will enter the beautiful small frozen lakes. Approximately of 4 hours hiking, we will reach the highest point; Kongma La Pass. The surroundings are draped in prayer flags and it absolutely looks stunning. During the trek, we will be seeing the Khumbu glacier; the deepest glacier in the world and the landscape of the icy lake head. We will head back via the north direction through the Khumbu Glacier, eventually reaching Lobuche. Overnight stay at Lodge with included meals (B+L+D).
Day 9 : Trek to Gorak Shep (5,170m/16,961ft), Everest base Camp (5,364m/17,594ft), Gorak Shep 7-8 hrs.
A very interesting trek awaits for us today. We will head via the later moraine of the Khumbu glacier. The crest of the north ridge of Everest, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Mahalangur, Mt. Lingtern etc. are seen from the route. The view is seemly breathtaking. Giving us panoramic views of the snowcapped mountains, we will be at the Thangma Riiju. We will hike up the sharp trails to the top of Changri glacier only to get a glimpse of Kala Patthar. After reaching Gorak Shep, we will be resting and then further continuing our trek to the Everest Base Camp. The trails are very rocky, with icy moraines and small streams. Upon arrival at the base camp we will be cherishing this achievement and also visit the Khumbu Glacier. Soon after, we will head back to Gorak Shep. Overnight stay at lodge with included meals (B+L+D).
Day 10 : Trek to Kala Patthar (5,545m/18,192ft), Lobuche (4,940m/16,208ft) 8-9 hrs.
We will be waking up early, before the sunrise as we will be hiking to Kala Patthar to view the sunrise on Mt. Everest and other peaks. Kala Patthar is a famous viewpoint and gives us a splendid panoramic view of Mt. Everest and other peaks. There will be prayer flags hung along the way as we climb the rocky trails. On our way we will be viewing many peaks like Khumbutse, Changtse, Everest and Nuptse. After spending a while in the view point we will trek via Gorak Shep continuing to Lobuche. Overnight stay at lodge with included meals (B+L+D).
Day 11 : Trek to Dzongla (4830m/15,850 ft.) 4 hrs.
After breakfast, we will be trekking downhill alongside the trail of the Khumbu Glacier. The path ahead has two trails in which we choose the trail on our right side. On our way, we will be viewing many beautiful sight of the peaks and thus it becomes very peaceful and mind setting. We will pass through many stupas and tombstones. Our trail will be ascending and we will reach the Chola Tsho lake. This trek will take us through many lakes where the scenery is just stunning. A final cross the over the Chola Khola will finally bring us to our destination; Dzongla. Overnight stay at lodge with included meals (B+L+D).
Day 12 : Trek to ChoLa (5368m/17,611ft), Thangnak (4680m/15,350 ft.), Gokyo (4800m/15,580 ft.): 7-8 hrs.
In our entire journey, today is a tough trekking day as we will begin our hike from early morning with the picturesque sight of Cholatse. Taking about an hour, we will be reaching the top of the basin getting ready for the victory on the ChoLa Pass. As our elevation increases, the view gets more spectacular and more worthy of the dedication and the motivation put in. The ChoLa Lake and Mt. Ama Dablam is beautifully seen over the ranges of mountains in the background. On top, the surroundings are draped with prayer flag that flap due to the strong winds. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. After a short jittery walk, the trail will bring us to the Ngozumpa Glacier; which is the longest glacier in Nepal. After some time, we will be reaching the other side of the glacier that gives us a view of the second Gokyo Lakes amongst the series of six lakes. In a short period, we will witness the third lake as well and then we will finally take rest at the Gokyo village. Overnight stay at lodge with included meals (B+L+D).
Day 13 : Rest to acclimatize in Gokyo and trek to Gokyo Ri (5357m/17,575 ft) 3-4 hrs
A third acclimatization in this journey allows us to climb the Gokyo Ri and to enjoy the mesmerizing view of the Everest region. It is also popular for observing the Thonak Tsho Lake and the Ngozuma Tsho Lake. About 3 kilometers north of Gokyo, there are other lakes with its high cliffs and peaks growing above it. As we continue our hike, we will come across the fifth lake and the most amazing part of the trek is the mesmerizing and shimmering turquoise color of the lake. Also, we may climb a hill at the edge of the lakes to get more fanstatic views of the peaks Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu etc. from the Scoundrels’ viewpoint. Further the fifth lake is the Cho Oyu Base Camp. The scenery with many peaks flashing in our eyes is definitely worth a while. In the northern part of the fifth lake, an astonishing view of the Cho Oyu base camp and the Ngazumpa Glacier; the biggest glacier of the world can be seen. We will be heading back to Gokyo. Overnight at Lode with included meals (B+L+D).
Day 14 : Trek to Renjo La (5360m/17585 ft.), Marlung (4210m/13,810 ft) 7-8 hrs.
Since a long trek awaits, we wake up at dawn to begin our trek up to Marlung via Renjo La. Further down from the Gokyo valley, we will leave the main traila and turn to the Renjo La Pass trail by the Dudh Pokhari. Approximately 3 hours later we will reach the Renjo La where a sparkling vista awaits. Many peaks like Everest, Lhotse Taboche will be shinning due to the sun rays upon them. Just as the Gokyo Ri, Renjo La gives us the beautiful views of the Everest region as well with the third Gokyo lake and the village. The trail further takes us to a stone staircase continuing to the south bank of a small lake called Angladumba Tsho. The trails are very icy so we have to be extra careful not to slip. Along the trail, we will witness the Renjo Lake and the Relama Tsho. The trails gets narrower and clogged with gian boulders to Lumde where a lodge is available. After an hour walk from Lumde, we will reach Marlung on the east bank of the Bhote Koshi river. Overnight stay at lodge with included meals (B+L+D).
Day 15 : Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,280ft) 6hrs.
We will be descending the trails used by Tibetan trades many centuries ago. Crossing the Bhote Koshi river, we will descend to Taranga. The trail follows through the valley of Langmuche Khola. Thame has an extensive village with a couple of lodges and gorgeous mountains like Katenga, Kusum, Kangguru etc. Thame has a famous monastery that is situated in the fields. The monastery was established about 325 years ago and has big images if Chenresig (Avalokiteswara), Guru Rinpoche and Budhha Sakyamuni. The trail further leads us to a bridge and then we reach Samde. Breathtaking views are seen and the path steeply descends down to the Thamo village which has another monastery named Khari Gompa. It is a home to nuns and monks. We will cross a check post and then arrive to the worlds highest hydroelectric power station built by the Austrian’s help. Soon after we reach the small village of Phurte where there is Laudo monastery run by the Kopan manstery in Kathmandu.
Day 16 : Trek to Lukla (2850 m/9,350 ft) 6-7 hrs.
After the breakfast, we will be hiking down a steep trail that descends to the Hillary Suspension Bridge and then we continue walking over several local villages. We will walk most through Dudh Koshi River valley and surroundings. Upon reaching at Lukla, freshen up at your hotel and relax. Evening, you could have a party with your trekking crew as it is your celebration of successful Everest Base Camp Trek also the last night in the Everest Region. Overnight at Lodge with included meals (B+L+D).
Day 17 : Fly back to Kathmandu
If everything goes according to the schedule, we will be flying back to Kathmandu early morning after breakfast. The 40 minutes’ flight back to Kathmandu will indeed be a relaxing one as we will be carrying an unforgettable and a successful journey to the Everest Base Camp. Upon the arrival to Kathmandu, we will head to our hotels respectively and then it is entirely up to the you what you wish to do.
