5 Days Kenya Wild Safari – Mara, Nakuru & Naivasha Wildlife

Indulge yourself, join the movement to experience one of the greatest migration sites in the world. Masai Mara in the Great Rift Valley is a wildlife wonderland featuring the great annual Wildebeest migration and a superb selection of top predators and their prey. With 95 species of animals and over 400 birds species, there is always something to see. Explore more of the Great Rift as you take an opportunity to flirt with flamingos at the fabulous Lake Nakuru. Finish your adventure by heating it up in the Hells Gate National Park with cycling, walking, rock climbing and geothermal wonders.

Day 1 Nairobi - Maasai Mara.

Pick up from your Nairobi hotel around 8.00 am and depart to Masai Mara Game Reserve with a stopover at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint. Proceed to Narok Town where you have a brief stop, this town is famous for the Masai people. Continue to Masai Mara, check-in at the lodge, have lunch then leave for the late afternoon wildlife drive, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 Masai Mara

After breakfast leave with a picnic lunch for a full day spent wildlife viewing across the rich, tree studded grasslands and rolling hills. The famous Mara is renowned for its great herds of plains wildlife, lions, leopards, and cheetahs yet also elephants and so much more. It’s on this day that you drive up to Mara River where the great migration takes place. All your meals and overnight stay will be at the lodge

Day 3 Masai Mara - Nakuru.

On this morning, enjoy a pre-breakfast wildlife drive between 6.30 am and 9 a.m. After this, return to the camp for breakfast, check-out and begin the journey to Nakuru with lunch at Narok en route. Arrive Nakuru early evening with dinner and accommodation at the lodge.

Day 4 Nakuru - Naivasha

Half a day wildlife viewing at Lake Nakuru National Park, where you will have a chance to visit a unique sanctuary catering for endangered rhinoceros and the Rothschild giraffe. Waterbucks as well as lion and leopard are common at the park. View a myriad of different variety of bird life in and around the lake including flamingoes. Leave for Naivasha late afternoon, check in your hotel and relax. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 5 Naivasha - Nairobi

After an early breakfast, check out from the hotel and head to hells gate National park, this is the only park you can do a wildlife drive, cycle, walk, rock climb, etc as you enjoy the beautiful scenery. Leave for Nairobi to be dropped at a Nairobi hotel for an overnight stay or at the airport for your flight.

4 Days Samburu & Ol Pejeta Conservancy Safari -Kenya Wildlife

A generally arid region the reserve is on the banks of the Ewaso Ng'iro river. Journey along the river's path to find lush vegetation and an exceptional concentration of wildlife. Groove with giraffes, oscillate with ostriches, eat with elephants, lunch with leopards and go crazy with Cheetahs – the fun never stops. Help save our most vulnerable wildlife by visiting the Ol Pejeta Conservancy – see rare rhinos, and grapple with the plight of the great apes.

Day 1 Nairobi- Samburu
Early morning pick up from Nairobi hotel or airport and drive north to the northern frontier district. Continue to the semi-arid Samburu National reserve and check-in to your lodge. After lunch at the lodge, there will be time to settle in before your first wildlife adventure begins. 4.00pm Set out for an afternoon wildlife drive in the reserve. Return to the lodge before dark for dinner, overnight and relaxation.

Day 2 Samburu Reserve
Wake up at 6.00am for an early morning wildlife drive. This is usually the most popular game viewing time. During the early hours, temperatures are low, thus providing a favourable atmosphere both for the game and the viewer. Lion, Cheetah and Leopard roam the vast grasslands in search of their next meal, it may be an unsuspecting impala or even a small warthog…whatever the players, the spectacle of nature unfolding is always awe-inspiring! Return to the lodge for a sumptuous breakfast. Relax during the day and enjoy lunch before an afternoon wildlife drive. Return to the campsite before dark for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 Samburu - Ol Pajeta
After an early morning breakfast depart for a morning wildlife drive. Journey to Nanyuki and get to Ol Pajeta Conservancy in time for lunch, check in to your tented camp settle down for lunch and do an afternoon wildlife drive with a visit to the chimpanzees. Dinner and overnight at the tented camp.

Day 4 Ol Pajeta-Nairobi
An early morning wildlife drive in Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The Conservancy boasts an astounding variety of animals including all the “Big Five” (the endangered black Rhino, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo and Lion). The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plains of Ol Pejeta guarantees an unforgettable safari experience. After breakfast depart by road for Nairobi arriving late afternoon/early evening. You will be dropped off at your Nairobi city hotel or to the airport.

Day 1 Nairobi - Maasai Mara.
Morning pick up from a Nairobi hotel or airport, and depart Nairobi for Masai Mara through the Great Rift Valley with stops to take some photos, also see the site of the first Italian Church. Proceed to Narok town with a lunch stopover then proceed to Mara arriving late afternoon. Check-in to your lodge and prepare for the evening 2hrs wildlife drive. Enjoy a fabulous dinner and overnight at lodge.


Day 2 Maasai Mara full day.
You depart the Lodge in the morning after breakfast for the whole day wildlife drive with picnic lunch provided. Your full day game drive will take you to visit the big Mara River where the migration of wildebeest takes place from Serengeti National park to Masai Mara Game reserve. Be prepared to see Hippos and Crocodiles. You will have an option to visit the Masai Village at an extra cost. Enjoy dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3 Masai Mara - Nakuru.
Enjoy an early morning sunrise wildlife drive before the main breakfast or choose a hot air balloon safari @ Usd 400pp, return to the lodge for breakfast. Leave Masai Mara for Nakuru passing through Naivasha and enjoying the beautiful scenery. Arrive at Nakuru in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4 Nakuru– Nairobi
Early morning breakfast and leave for a wildlife drive to Lake Nakuru national park. Keep an eye open for rhinos, grazers and possibly the big cats. Leave Nakuru and drive to Nairobi with lunch en route arriving early in the evening/late afternoon, Drop-off at Kahama hotel for an overnight stay to finish your trip.

Nairobi is one of the few places in the world that includes a National Park within its boundaries. Situated on the Nairobi river, right next door to the Nairobi National Park, it is hard to imagine a city that is so filled with adventure and excitement. Good things take time - in Nairobi & Kenya, this sense of mythic time is all around you. Prepare for your adventure by understanding the cultures and history of this fascinating place. There are several museums and monuments in Nairobi, but you really should visit the Nairobi National Museum. Begin your adventure into the ‘cradle of humanity’ by visiting the full remains of ‘Turkana Boy’. Be inspired by this almost complete hominin skeleton said to be between 1.5 and 1.6 million years old. For international flights, the main airport is JKIA Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Be aware that Nairobi suffers from terrible traffic jams so travelling by taxi or car can be problematic. From the airport to the city centre you can take Bus #34.

Food

See the details in your package for meal options. Whilst in Nairobi take advantage of the fabulous local restaurants offering a full range of cuisines. This includes a wide range of Indian restaurants you will also find restaurants specializing in European and Asian cuisines. With plenty of options for different diets and preferences. For a true taste of Kenya, make sure you try out some local favourites. You will find the unique Kenyan sausage ‘mutura’ available at street stalls and restaurants. Imaging ground meat and goats blood wrapped in goats intestine. Boiled until tender and then grilled over an open flame to dry and impart a fabulous smoky flavour. An excellent accompaniment to any type of beer. Find your nostril aquiver, then you have probably scented the sweet aroma of mandazi, a wonderful, slightly sweet, deep-fried doughnut, with a hint of coconut. Fabulous to enjoy with a cup of Kenyan Chai.
