Sapporo Session Snow

This two-day excursion takes place in Sapporo, the gateway to Hokkaido and a world-class skiing destination. The trip includes guided skiing en route to Sapporo, two nights in the snowy city, and guided skiing in the surrounding region. When you're not exploring the regions of Teine Highland in the northwest or Sapporo Kokusai to the west, you can check out the sights, sounds, restaurants, and nightlife of the worlds snowiest major city. Why not add this trip to Sapporo to the beginning or the end of your trip to Hokkaido? This trip includes two nights stay at our standard accommodation in Sapporo. These small Japanese run ski lodges offer clean, comfortable, accommodations with breakfast. However, it's important to note that in most cases facilities are shared. If you would prefer to stay in an apartment, private house, hotel or just somewhere with an ensuite, please let us know, and we can quote alternatives. There are lots of accommodation choices in Sapporo, so upgrading is easy!

The Hokkaido Fix Snow

The Hokkaido Fix is the ultimate ski tour of Hokkaido, allowing you to take in the highlights of the region in just eight days (with the opportunity to stay longer). This tour of Hokkaido starts in Niseko with a few days chasing the best powder in this region before heading to Central Hokkaido. Weather permitting we`ll spend some time in the alpine of the Daisetsuzan range at places like Asahidake and Tokachidake, or if its dumping and alpine visibility are limited, we`ll settle for some of Hokkaido`s best top to bottom skiing at places like Furano, Kamui, and Tomamu. The trip will wrap up in Sapporo with steep, powder skiing at places like Teine, Kokusai or Kiroro. Simply let us know about your group, skiing interessts, and how much time you have on your hands, and we'll put together a customised itinerary that fits your requirements.

High Earnings Snow

The High Earnings ten-day backcountry tour takes you on an epic backcountry ski adventure to untracked lines across the island of Hokkaido. Throughout this trip, we'll move locations regularly and stay in some of Hokkaido's lesser traveled areas. Weather permitting, we'll aim to head into the backcountry and put skins on for at least some portion of all days, but we'll still be positioned within reach of ski resorts in case conditions aren't well suited to touring, or you're keen from some lift accessed skiing. All guests will need an avalanche safety kit (backpack, shovel, probe, transceiver) and full touring setup. Splitboards are highly recommended for snowboarders. If you don't have your own, Rising Sun has everything you need available for rent, and we offer package discounts to all guests on multi-day trips. All of our trips are fully customizable – just let us know what you want to do, and we can design an itinerary to suit.

About the location

Accommodation

When on one of our ski tours we tend to stay in standard accommodation found at ski resort base. The small Japanese run ski lodges that we stay in have been tried and tested by our team over the years and offers comfortable and clean accommodation along with a hot breakfast in the morning. Most of these lodges feature shared accommodation but we can organize an upgrade to a private house, hotel, or apartment where necessary.

A ski trip to Japan is more than just a ski trip; it’s an adrenaline-fuelled adventure to one of the most interesting places in the world home to epic powder and glorious mountains. Our offices are just a two-hour drive from New Chitose Airport, Hokkaido’s main airport.

Food

Breakfast is usually included in most of the hotels, lodges, and houses we stay in but lunch and dinner will be an additional purchase. We've got plenty of recommendations for local restaurants in the cities and towns we visit, and we're always happy to point you in the right direction of a hearty meal!
