From all 4 corners of the mystical and intriguing East of our fair continent, there is something incredible to be discovered. The untouched and historical shores of the Lakes in Montenegro to the mountain peaks in Siberia; the Baltic nations offer so much not to mention rad snow conditions.
We have done a little invitatory work, scored the internet and talk to some fellow riders and we have come up with a list of 5 spots that will round out the Baltic addition of our "A Winters Dream" series.

We heard about Bansko from some British friends, the resort has been popularised for its party atmosphere and easy to intermediate level slopes. However, with a long snow-sure winter and the freeride relatively undiscovered, this opens a door for discovery. Armed with your touring gear, a good crew and a terrain map, Bansko offers a chance to explore, dare we say, trails few have walked before. Failing that, the Apres is vibrant, the atmosphere electric and that after-backcountry beer is very well priced. Click here to find out more about booking.

Poiana Brasov, Romania
Cast your mind to the spooky and ominous city of Bucharest, a city drenched in history, the home of Dracula's castle, just 12km from the medieval town of Brasov, then travel not far, to the mouth of the Carpathian Mountain you have Poiana Brasov. The 25km of slopes offer great terrain for beginner and intermediate skiers and boarders BUT with the addition of your touring gear, the terrain is very similar to that of the Norwegian Fjords, perfect for cross-country ski touring, low incline, breathtaking views and an opportunity to travel the path less travelled. Thanks to some recent funding, the town is also now home to great hotels, bars and restaurants. A super cool chance to experience the mountains, Romanian style. Click here to discover more.
