Pursue your dreams with Huella Andina Expeditions. Scale new heights and become at one with the natural world of the Andean mountain ranges. Immerse yourself in the geology and geography of this remarkable region. Huella Andina Expeditions offers a number of guided climbs and treks through the startlingly magnificent volcanic landscape surrounding Puerto Varas. You will experience mountains, lakes, glaciers, forests and thermal activity, all within this small geographical pocket. Expeditions range from day-trips through to 12-day excursions. Seeing is believing, yet this is far more than seeing – you will form a relationship with the land and peoples of Patagonia, taste their food, breathe their air, and climb their mountains. All guides speak fluent English, have multiple years of experience in the mountains, and deep local knowledge having grown up in the area.
In 2009 a group of family and friends joined together to pursue their dreams and "work hard for what they love". José Miguel, Sandra, and Matías spent their childhoods surrounded by the lakes, volcanoes, and forests of Patagonia. They fell in love with their childhood home and that love has never died. You now have the opportunity to share their passion for this remarkable region and enjoy their years of knowledge and experience. All expedition leaders are qualified climbers with certifications.José Miguel has climbed throughout northern, central and southern Chile and Argentina, the Alps, the Pyrenees, the Dolomites and the Caucasus Mountains. José Miguel has been responsible for leading many multi-pitch ice and rock climbs throughout the world. He has made more than a hundred summits of the Osorno volcano, whilst guiding clients.Matías began mountaineering at the age of 13, climbing in the Patagonian Andes. He is well known for making the “first absolute ascent of Cerro Isi in the Cordon of Los Cenizos in southern Chile (2007)”. Matías has climbed throughout Chile, Europe and Peru, with a significant number of volcanic ascents registered against his name.
Guided climbing and trekking through Southern Chile, including mountain ascents, with equipment provided. Excellent local guides speaking English and Spanish.
You will be in a small group usually of 2-8 people. Larger groups can make special arrangements.You will have a qualified mountain guide with excellent local knowledge, who will speak both English and Spanish. Costs for items mentioned in the itinerary will be included in the price. These include; climbing permits, entrance fees, necessary transportation for the expedition. You will be provided with all the necessary equipment for the duration of your expedition. Including items such as; “ropes, helmet, harness, crampons, ice axes, carabiners, slings, belay/rappel device, ascenders, mountain tents, kitchen utensils/cooking equipment, tables and chairs for base camps or campsites, first aid kit (WFR), plus self-rescue equipment”Accommodation and meals will be provided as listed in the itinerary for your expedition.
