Uluwatu

Ulu has been the most famous Bali ripping spot since the 70s when it was featured front and center on a surf documentary called Morning of the Earth. Whether you’ve seen the film or not, anyone heading to Bali strictly for the surf knows that Uluwatu is the place to be.

The thing that makes the main Ulu wave so special is that it’s actually made up of 6 different breaks, each one better than the last. There’s Secrets, Temples, Bombie, Peak, Outside Corner, and The Racetrack, none of which are beginner-friendly. Novice surfers should probably stick to Canggu before making their way to Ulu.
