Sri Lanka is a beautiful place, and it’s an ideal surf destination if you’re up for an adventure. After strapping your board to the top of a tuk-tuk, don’t be surprised if you see an elephant crossing the street in front of you as you make the short drive to the nearest beach break.
There’s a variety of breaks here, a little bit of something for everyone. Beginners love the gentle sand-bottom beach breaks while more intermediate-level surfers give the more challenging reef breaks a try. Advanced surfers can definitely find something to match their skills, but for the most part, Sri Lanka is considered a more beginner-friendly surf spot.
